Forest City Sport & Social Club: London’s Go-To for Fun and Fitness

Founded 15 years ago, the Forest City Sport and Social Club offers a mix of co-ed recreational sport leagues and social activities for adults in London, ON. Director Dave Ward highlights the club’s astounding growth alongside the city’s booming population. From humble beginnings with just 220 participants in its first season, the club now attracts around 4,600 Londoners each week during the summer.

The Sport and Social Club brings people together, fostering lifelong connections. Ward often hears from members who have made lasting friendships, and even a few marriages, through their involvement in the leagues. It’s all about the camaraderie!

With over 30 sports leagues on offer, there’s something for everyone no matter the season. As we head into fall, outdoor leagues like beach volleyball, flag football, and ultimate frisbee are kicking off for shorter seasons of six to seven weeks. Meanwhile, indoor leagues like badminton, dodgeball, and pickleball run throughout the entire season.

New to the game? No problem! The club’s rookie leagues are perfect for beginners. Fall rookie leagues in volleyball, pickleball, basketball, curling, soccer, and floor hockey are now open for registration. These leagues are designed to teach newcomers the basics of the sports and connect them with other beginners.

Excitingly, a new addition to the fall lineup is the cornhole league, hosted at the Game Knight Leagues venue in London. This nine-week session is set to be a big hit! Plus, the club has teamed up with The Factory, an indoor entertainment center, to offer trampoline fitness classes for those looking to jump into something new.
