Mark your calendars, theatre lovers! London Fringe is back and better than ever, ready to light up the city with an exhilarating five-day event. From August 13 to 17, 2024, get ready to dive into an ocean of creativity, with over 100 shows spread across six fantastic venues in London, ON. This is a unique opportunity to enjoy diverse performances while supporting the talented artists behind them.

After being disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, the London Fringe Festival is gearing up for its largest and most dynamic line-up of shows since 2019. According to Kelly Gough, chair of the London Fringe committee, the festival has been steadily growing and this year promises to be an exciting showcase of artistic talent. Venues include the Good Foundation Theatre at Fanshawe College, The Rosewood at London Music Hall of Fame, the Auburn Stage at Grand Theatre, Proudfoot Hall at First-St. Andrew’s United Church, the David Long Main Stage at the Palace Theatre, and Procunier Hall at the Palace Theatre.

Gough shares the enthusiasm: 'It’s an opportunity for performers to showcase their work and support upcoming artists in their craft.' This year, expect a captivating mix of local and international acts, totaling 18 performers. Each one brings a distinct flavor to the festival, whether it's comedy, music, or drama, there's something for everyone.

One of the festival's highlights is 'BANJOKER,' a performance by Tony Molesworth at The Rosewood. A perfect blend of music and comedy, Molesworth's 55-minute show combines banjo playing with quick-witted one-liners. Having headlined shows for over 25 years, Molesworth is sure to entertain audiences with his seasoned humor.

Families and children won't want to miss 'The Velveteen Rabbit' at the Auburn Stage. This heartwarming tale of a girl and her beloved stuffed rabbit will come alive through enchanting songs, puppetry, and dance. Kids are encouraged to bring their own stuffed animals for a chance to be featured in the show.

For those seeking a more mature audience experience, 'THE POLE SHEBANG' at The Rosewood is a must-see. Professional pole dancer Andrea James Lui takes viewers on a behind-the-scenes adventure of an unexpected journey to the biggest stage in the country. With mature language, audience participation, and dynamic lighting, it’s a unique and captivating show.

Another standout is 'JELIMANA' at the Grand's Auburn Stage, featuring Zimbabwe musician Hwabaraty. The performance narrates the story of a young man displaced from his village during the 1960s war in Zimbabwe. This 35-minute show offers a rich, cultural narrative that resonates internationally, representing a powerful historical connection.

Shows run every evening from August 13 to 16, starting at 6 p.m., and all day on August 17, beginning at 1 p.m. For more details on shows and ticket purchases, check out the event's main platforms or visit select ticket outlets in the city.
