❤️ London Review

Courtyard London

Conveniently located just off Highway 401, Courtyard by Marriott London sits in a prime spot near ample shopping, dining, and essential amenities in London, Ontario. The prime location makes it a go-to option for both business and leisure travelers. However, while it offers several comforts, there are a few areas that may require you to manage your expectations.

One noteworthy aspect is the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms. Multiple accounts highlight the contemporary style and cozy, updated furnishings. Beds are particularly lauded for their comfort, allowing a good night's sleep. That said, don't expect luxury at its peak. Some issues were noted, such as a malfunctioning ice machine, a stinky refrigerator, and a missing shower curtain. These shortcomings can be deal-breakers for some, so proceed with a degree of caution.

The indoor pool can be an appealing feature, especially for families. However, there have been reports of the pool being frequently out of service, which is frustrating if you’ve booked the hotel primarily for this amenity. It's advised to confirm its availability prior to booking, especially if your stay hinges on pool access.

Staff at this Courtyard appear generally friendly and accommodating, which adds an element of warmth to the stay. Guests have mentioned the excellent service received from the front desk and dining staff. While the service quality receives frequent praises, it seems the hotel struggles during peak times. An understaffed front desk can translate to slower service, so patience might be necessary.

If you’re in town for business, the amenities could meet your needs. The hotel offers complimentary WiFi, which many find to be fast and reliable, alongside a business center for your work tasks. There is also The Bistro, which serves a range of meals and Starbucks® coffee, a convenient perk for coffee enthusiasts. Nonetheless, be aware that the fitness center is currently closed for renovations, and no breakfast is included with your room. On-site dining options receive mixed reviews—sometimes the information given about their operating hours can be inconsistent.

Safety and security at the hotel are strong points, although there was one unsettling report of unauthorized room entry. Make sure to secure your valuables and report any concerns to the front desk immediately.

Parking is complimentary, which is a bonus for those road-tripping through Ontario. However, be careful in winter months as the parking lot’s maintenance can occasionally be lacking, leading to icy conditions.

While Courtyard by Marriott London may not hit every high note, it offers value for its location and a generally comfortable stay. It’s a decent option if you're not too focused on luxury and don't mind a few minor inconveniences.
