❤️ London Review

Jack's London North

Jack's London North, also known as Jack Astor's, manages to step above the typical chain restaurant stereotype with a lively atmosphere, diverse menu, and generally reliable service. The restaurant, located at 88 Fanshawe Park Road E, London, is decorated with quirky pictures, fun items, and witty quotes on the walls. It's a place that aims to please a broad audience, whether you're there for a family dinner or a team outing. The retro arcade machines in the bar area are a fun touch, and the back patio with flowers is a summer delight. 🌸

When it comes to the food, you'll find a surprisingly wide range of options. A standout dish, much to my delight, was the Hunter's Chicken. Two grilled chicken breasts are complemented by a light mushroom sauce, steamed veggies, and just-right potatoes. This dish left a positive impression—moist, flavorful, and satisfying.

Wing lovers, my son gave a thumbs up to the hot wings paired with a side of fries. The fries were not overly salted and came in a generous portion. My wife enjoyed the Mexican Chicken Salad, which she found filling and well-balanced with the chicken done perfectly.

Other notable mentions include the Asiago Chicken Bow Ties and the Vodka Fish and Chips. The bow tie pasta is a comfort food hit with its creamy Asiago sauce, while the fish and chips offer a delightful twist with the vodka-infused batter. Don't miss out on the Truffle Fries as an appetizer; they are crispy, seasoned well, and a great start to your meal.

Ending a meal here can be equally delightful. The house-made Birthday Cake and zesty Lemon Tart are perfect for celebrating any occasion.

Service-wise, experiences can vary. During peak times, the waitstaff manages to be both attentive and efficient, but off-peak, there can be lapses in service and attention. It's hit or miss whether you get attentive service or feel a bit neglected. This inconsistency is something to watch out for, especially given the bustling atmosphere.

A word to the wise for reservations: definitely make one if you plan on dining during busy times. Jack’s can handle large groups impressively well, but without a reservation, you might be left waiting.

The menu at Jack's caters to many dietary preferences, with a good variety for vegetarians and meat-lovers alike. The price point is a tad higher than other chain restaurants, especially for signature entrées, but the quality is usually worth it.

To get the best experience: aim for early dinners or weekday meals. The weekend evenings can get quite noisy and crowded, which might not be ideal if you're after a quiet dining experience. However, if you're looking for a lively place to hang out with friends or have a fun family dinner, Jack’s London North has you covered.
