❤️ London Review

Winks Eatery

If you’re in London, Ontario and craving some hearty pub food with a side of fun, Winks Eatery is the place to be. Opened in 2006 by Adam Winkler and his father Dennis at the corner of Albert and Richmond Street, this joint has been a staple on Richmond Row ever since. The atmosphere at Winks is always casual and inviting, making it an excellent spot for anything from a hearty breakfast to a late-night hangout with friends. Plus, their daily and weekly entertainment options, from karaoke nights to live music and trivia, ensure there’s never a dull moment 🍻.

The menu at Winks Eatery is extensive, catering to a wide range of tastes with its mix of American grill fare and comfort food. If you're here for breakfast, you can't go wrong with the ‘Big Wink’—a feast of three eggs, two meats, French toast, home fries, and toast that will keep you fueled for the day. Another breakfast favorite is their ‘Breakfast Poutine,’ featuring home fries, bacon, cheese, hollandaise sauce, and the addition of eggs if you're feeling extra hungry.

For later in the day, their Chicken Wings are a must-try. They come in just about every sauce you can dream of, from traditional mild and hot to more inventive flavors like 40 creek whiskey BBQ and sweet Thai chili. Pair your wings with a piña colada for a complete indulgence. And if you're a fan of nachos, their Garden Nachos (with optional chicken or beef toppings) are both delicious and generously portioned.

One of the standout dishes at Winks is the Spinach and Artichoke Dip, which is a hit among patrons. It’s served with pita wedges and nacho chips and is the perfect cheesy, creamy starter to share. For something more substantial, the Goat Cheese & Beet Salad is a flavorful yet light option, packed with tender greens, beets, goat cheese, and walnuts, all dressed in a tangy balsamic vinaigrette.

Winks also excels at hearty entrées. The Rib and Wing Meal is a carnivore’s dream, offering a half rack of ribs and five wings with a side of fries and coleslaw. If you’re feeling extra ravenous, the Carnivore Platter XL, which includes a 6 oz steak, a full rack of ribs, a full pound of boneless wings, loaded mashed potatoes, and coleslaw, is guaranteed to satisfy. For something with a twist, the Yellow Fin Tuna Dinner is another solid choice, featuring seared tuna, coconut sesame rice, ginger vegetables, and a citrus soy glaze.

When it comes to drinks, Winks has you covered with a formidable selection of draft beers and cocktails. From a simple pint of Labatt 50 to more exotic mixed drinks, there’s something for every taste. Their patio is a great place to unwind with your drink of choice, especially during warmer months 🌞.

Don't miss out on their happy hour deals, which offer great bang for your buck. Half-priced quesadillas on Wednesdays and $0.69 wings on Mondays (with a drink purchase) are particularly popular.

In terms of service, while experiences can vary, most visits are marked by friendly and attentive staff. However, it’s worth noting that during busier times, especially during events like bingo nights or during sports games, service may slow down, so a bit of patience might be needed.
