Hey Toledo! Get ready to declutter and do some good for the environment this Saturday. The City of Toledo is hosting a 'Clean Toledo Recycling Event' at Manhattan Plaza from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and trust me, you don’t want to miss it!
This event is your golden opportunity to recycle bulk items for free. Yes, you heard that right—FREE! The city's initiative encourages residents to bring a variety of items, including air conditioning units, refrigerators, freezers, large appliances, and even your old documents. Perfect for all you digital nomads who’ve been meaning to get rid of those piles of paper!
Got an old TV or heaps of electronic waste gathering dust? Bring them along. This event accepts e-waste, household hazardous waste, paints, stains, packing styrofoam, residential yard waste, and scrap metal. Tire disposal will cost you 50 cents each (rims must be off), and you can bring up to 10 tires. This is particularly good news for anyone who’s been working on their car but didn't know how to responsibly get rid of those old tires.
The event is a joint effort by multiple organizations, including the Toledo Divisions of Environmental Services and Urban Beautification, Keep Toledo Lucas County Beautiful, and the Ohio EPA. It’s time to come together, support these initiatives, and keep our city clean!
And if you can't make it this weekend, don’t worry—there’s a 2024 Clean Toledo Recycling Events Schedule packed with events throughout the year. From the Toledo Zoo to high schools across the city, there's no shortage of opportunities to participate in keeping Toledo looking its best.
Make sure to pack up your items safely and arrive early to beat the crowds. Events like these are a community effort and a great way to stay connected while making a positive environmental impact. Plus, volunteers will be on hand to direct traffic and help you unload your recyclable treasures, making the process smooth and hassle-free.
So grab your unwanted items and head to Manhattan Plaza this Saturday. Your efforts contribute to a cleaner, greener Toledo, and that’s something we can all get behind! See you there!
