It's that time of year again, Toledo! The 2024 German-American Festival is back and ready to rock Oak Shade Grove in Oregon, Ohio. As northwest Ohio’s oldest and largest ethnic festival, this event promises a weekend filled with delicious German and Swiss food, import beer, and enough folk dancing to wear out even the most enthusiastic dancers.

Mark your calendars and clear your schedules because this three-day extravaganza kicks off on August 23 from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m., continues on August 24 from 2 p.m. to 1 a.m., and wraps up on August 25 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. If you're worried about parking, fret not! Shuttle bus tickets are available to make your journey to and from the festival a breeze.

What's a German-American Festival without authentic eats and drinks? Savor everything from juicy bratwursts and schnitzels to an array of imported beers that’ll transport you straight to Munich. And let's not forget the entertainment—from traditional German music to folk dances, this festival is a cultural immersion experience like no other. Expect to see people dressed in vibrant lederhosen and dirndls, bringing that authentic Bavarian flair.

Not just for adults, the festival offers a ton of fun activities and thrilling rides for kids. Whether you're checking out the traditional German contests and feats (think stein-hoisting competitions), or enjoying some family-friendly entertainment, there’s something for everyone here. So bring the kiddos along and make this a family outing.

Since its inception over half a century ago, the German-American Festival has had a mission bigger than just fun and games. The festival generates revenue to support the German and Swiss cultural center along with various other philanthropic initiatives in the Toledo area. So not only are you having a blast, but you're also supporting great causes. Prost to that!

The festival is hosted at Oak Shade Grove, located at 3624 Seaman Road in Oregon, Ohio, just half a mile east of Coy Road. Whether you're a local or just visiting, this is one cultural festivity you won’t want to miss. So throw on your best German attire (optional but fun!), gather your friends and family, and head over for a weekend packed with fun, food, and festivities.
