Could Promenade Park in downtown Toledo become a more permanent concert venue? There's some serious momentum building behind this idea. The Lucas County Commissioners have approved funding for a study in partnership with ConnecToledo to investigate just that. This study aims to explore the costs associated with adding a stage, seating, and permanent dressing rooms.

This all stems from the successful concert series we've enjoyed this year. The study will assess what enhancements are needed, develop a site program, estimate costs, and eventually set up an RFP process to find a potential operator for the venue.

Deputy county administrator Matt Heyrman highlighted that while a previous study identified Promenade Park as the prime spot for an amphitheater downtown, this new study aims to dig deeper. It's all about figuring out what extra bits and bobs the park needs to become the go-to spot for live music and entertainment in Toledo.

However, making Promenade Park a more permanent concert venue isn't set in stone just yet. If it goes ahead, there may be a need for public investment in infrastructure, according to ConnecToledo President Paul Toth. We're talking potentially big bucks to transform the park into a fully equipped, permanent concert venue.

Adding to the buzz around Promenade Park, there's the Promenade Pavilion, managed by HB Concerts Inc. The Pavilion has been an electrifying hotspot for live music events. For instance, Here Come The Mummies rocked the house on August 31, with the doors opening at 5:30 PM and the show kicking off at 7:00 PM. It's events like these that make us excited about the potential transformation!

Public ticket sales for the Pavilion concerts have been on fire, notably starting May 24, 2024. The excitement around these events suggests that Toledoans are ready and waiting for a more permanent venue at Promenade Park.

The enthusiasm for these summer concert series has been overwhelming, thanks to our wonderful sponsors who make it all possible. Concerts like these are just the start, hinting at an epic future if the park gets transformed into a full-time entertainment venue. Toledo’s music and entertainment scene could be leveling up big time!
