Kick Off the 2024 Goodwill 'Pass It On Challenge'

Get ready, Toledo! The 2024 Goodwill 'Pass It On Challenge' is back and better than ever. Brought to you by 13abc, this challenge features high schools across Northwest Ohio going head-to-head—not on the field, but in a friendly donation battle that benefits Goodwill Industries of Northwest Ohio.

Every week, two local high schools compete in a donation drive, including clothing, household items, and furniture. The proceeds from the sales of these donations fund vital job training and placement for individuals with barriers throughout the region. Think of it as rooting for your team and supporting your community, all at the same time!

Here's how it works: A Goodwill Pass It On Challenge Trailer will be stationed at each competing school for supporters to drop off their donations. The collection period starts from Monday and goes until Thursday, 2pm-6pm. Make sure to keep an eye out for collection details posted around your school, at local Goodwill stores, donation stations, and on social media using #passitonchallenge.

One of the coolest parts? Not only are you helping a great cause, but the school that collects the most weight in donations by game day is crowned the winner of that week's challenge. The winning school receives a $500 scholarship, and the runner-up takes home $250. Everyone's a winner when it comes to giving back!

The weekly winners are announced every Friday on 13 Action News, so tune in to see if your school brings home the win. Non-monetary prizes include bragging rights and the satisfaction of having made a positive impact in your community.
