Could Promenade Park in downtown Toledo become the city's go-to concert venue? A recent development hints at that possibility. Lucas County Commissioners have green-lighted funds for a study in collaboration with ConnecToledo to gauge the park's potential as a permanent concert arena. Imagine live music all year round right by the riverside!

This upcoming study aims to delve into various enhancements that would solidify Promenade Park's status as a prime concert spot. Factors such as the costs of building a stage, seating arrangements, and permanent dressing rooms will be scrutinized. The process will culminate in requests for proposals, paving the way for finding the ideal operator for this ambitious project.

Building on a previous study that already highlighted Promenade Park as an excellent amphitheater location, the new assessment will provide an even more detailed roadmap. Deputy County Administrator Matt Heyrman noted that the plan is to refine the initial study, create a site program, estimate the costs, and go through the RFP process.

While nothing is set in stone yet, the potential of transforming Promenade Park into a permanent concert venue is exciting. ConnecToledo President Paul Toth mentioned that some public investment might be required for necessary infrastructure improvements. If successful, Toledo could soon be hosting even more incredible live performances.
