Could Promenade Park in downtown Toledo be on its way to becoming the city's go-to concert venue? A new study commissioned by Lucas County Commissioners and ConnecToledo aims to evaluate just that. By building on this year's successful concert series, they hope to determine the feasibility and costs involved in making the park a permanent music hub.

The study will dive deep, covering everything from stage construction and seating arrangements to the addition of permanent dressing rooms. By analyzing these costs and issuing requests for proposals, the goal is to find a capable operator for the venue. This effort builds off a previous study that highlighted Promenade Park as downtown's prime location for an amphitheater.

Deputy County Administrator Matt Heyrman emphasizes that this new study aims to expand on the initial findings by assessing necessary enhancements, developing a site program, estimating costs, and initiating the RFP process for a potential operator.

However, turning Promenade Park into a permanent concert venue isn't a done deal yet. ConnecToledo President Paul Toth has noted that public investment in infrastructure might be required for this transformation.

This potential upgrade could spell exciting things for Toledo's entertainment scene. Imagine enjoying top-tier performances in a beautifully revamped Promenade Park! Plans are still in their early stages, so stay tuned for more updates on this promising project.
