❤️ Toledo Review

Hampton Inn Toledo/Oregon

I recently stayed at the Hampton Inn Toledo/Oregon in Oregon, Ohio for a business trip, and overall, I found it to be a solid choice for both business and leisure travelers. Located just a short distance from downtown Toledo, the hotel offers easy access to multiple local attractions like the Hollywood Casino, Seagate Convention Centre, and the Huntington Center. The hotel is in a relatively nicer section of the area and the ample parking space adds a layer of convenience for those driving in.

The lobby of the Hampton Inn Toledo/Oregon is surprisingly modern and stylish — a pleasant shock compared to what you’d expect from a typical mid-range hotel. The decor is fresh and welcoming, suggesting either a new build or an exceptionally maintained property. When I arrived, the front desk staff was friendly and eager to explain the hotel's amenities including the complimentary breakfast, pool, and fitness center.

The rooms themselves were clean and comfy. My king-sized bed came with fresh mattresses and good quality pillows, making it easy to relax after a long day. The furniture is modern and the carpets stain-free, which again speaks volumes about the hotel's upkeep. However, the TV, sitting at around 37 to 42 inches, felt inadequate given the room’s size, and the capped volume made it challenging to hear at times. The restroom was spacious with a large, well-maintained shower, though the cleaning product left a faintly musty smell which quickly disappeared after a few minutes.

One of the highlights was the indoor heated pool and Jacuzzi area. The heated pool genuinely felt warm, a rare find, and the Jacuzzi was significantly hotter than expected, which I loved. It's clear that this area is well-cared for with no missing tiles or signs of disrepair.

The complimentary breakfast was a real winner. Unlike many places where free breakfast translates to bland and limited offerings, the breakfast here was impressive. From several hot options including eggs and meats to freshly made waffles, different types of bread, and a variety of coffee and creamer options, it was a great start to the day. A minor issue was some odd technical quirks with HVAC units; they seemed slightly outdated with controls on the unit itself while the wall thermostat remained non-functional.

While the hotel provides top-notch service and comfortable stays, there are a few areas for improvement. The lack of soundproofing can be problematic, with thin walls making it easy to hear noise from neighboring rooms. Also, despite some poor experiences noted about indifferent staff, my interactions were generally positive and very accommodating. The hotel does offer an experience of quality customer service, from the proactive housekeeping to the helpful front desk.

Despite a few hiccups, the Hampton Inn Toledo/Oregon is a solid recommendation particularly for its location, the maintenance of the property, and the overall positive service experience. It's a bit pricier than some might expect, with occasional discrepancies between advertised and actual rates, but it generally delivers good value for the price.
